Sports Injuries
Strains, sprains, and overuse injuries from training and competition — and how to get back fast.
Sports injuries cover a broad spectrum of acute and overuse conditions — muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendinopathies, joint sprains, stress reactions, and post-concussion musculoskeletal sequelae. The vast majority (over 50% in most epidemiological studies) are overuse injuries driven by training-load errors rather than single traumatic events. Modern sports medicine consistently shows that rapid acute-to-chronic workload spikes are among the strongest predictors of injury (Gabbett, BJSM 2016).
Acute injuries typically present with sudden, identifiable pain, swelling, and loss of function. Overuse injuries develop gradually as soreness that no longer fully resolves between sessions, progresses to pain during activity, and eventually persists at rest. Recurring 'tweaks' in the same area, performance plateaus driven by pain, and protective movement compensations are all signs of an unresolved underlying issue.
Every active population — from professional and collegiate athletes to recreational runners, lifters, golfers, and weekend pickup-league players. Adolescent athletes in single-sport specialization, masters athletes returning from time off, and individuals layering high training volume on top of sedentary office jobs are at particularly elevated risk.
A combined, root-cause approach.
We use the same evidence-based framework trusted by pro and D1 athletes: precise diagnosis, hands-on manual therapy (ART, Graston, dry needling, joint manipulation), sport-specific rehabilitation, and structured return-to-play progressions guided by objective load and capacity benchmarks. Rest alone is rarely the answer — we keep you training around the injury whenever it is safe, and rebuild capacity so the injury does not recur.
