Graston Technique & Soft Tissue Scraping
Break up scar tissue. Restore glide. Move free again.

Graston Technique is a form of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) — sometimes called "scraping." The doctor uses specially designed stainless steel instruments to glide across the skin and detect, then treat, areas of fascial restriction and chronic scar tissue that the hands alone can miss.
Out of pain. Back to function.
Old injuries, surgeries, and repetitive strain leave behind disorganized scar tissue and stuck fascia that limit motion and keep pain looped on. The instrument's edge gives us better feedback and lets us deliver controlled mechanical stress to that exact tissue, which jumpstarts a fresh healing response — bringing in blood flow, breaking up adhesions, and re-aligning collagen fibers so the tissue glides and loads properly again.
- A light layer of emollient on the skin so the tool glides smoothly
- Several minutes of targeted scraping over the affected area
- Temporary redness or mild bruising (called petechiae) — this is normal
- Immediate range-of-motion gains, with full effect over the next 48–72 hours
Is the bruising bad?+
No. Mild redness or pinpoint bruising is the expected and intended response — it's the inflammatory signal that drives healing. It clears in a few days.
Does scraping hurt?+
It can be intense over a tight or scarred area, but most patients describe it as a "good hurt" — followed by immediate relief.
